TERMS OF SERVICE

.Please take a minute to read these terms before commissioning me.
You are responsible for reading this document and, by purchasing my art services, you agree to the conditions below.

PAYMENT

♥ All payments must be made with USD or EUR through PayPal.
ㅤ
♥ Please wait until I send you my PayPal address before sending any payment.
- If the payment is made with USD or EUR, I will send you the email from my account;
- An invoice can be sent instead of my email as long as you state your preference.
ㅤ
♥ I don’t work with “50% now and 50% then” method.
- Full payment must be sent after the sketch of your commission is approved by you, and although it is not preferred, you can also send payment beforehand. I don’t and will not work on any commission that has not yet been paid.

♥ You’ll have three days (72 hours) to send the payment once the sketch is approved.
- If the payment fails, the commission will be considered paused until you send a message;
- There’s a month period for you to reappear and confirm if the commission is still wanted, and if that time passes without any notice, I reserve the right to use any and all sketches for personal and/or commercial use (while, of course, respecting the uniqueness of your characters) or to delete it completely.

♥ Thanks to PayPal's new automatized system, I’m currently unable to provide refunds. With that said, be extra sure you want to work with me and trust my artistic skills before asking for a commission!

ARTIST

By commissioning me, you’re purchasing my artist labor only. I retain all copyrights over my work, which include but are not limited to the right to sharing and/or using the image as a sample for sales/self-promotion, unless otherwise agreed upon.

♥ I’ll always respect your request to not publicly post/share your commission, but this must be clarified beforehand;
ㅤ
♥ I retain the copyright of my work;
ㅤ
♥ I can’t reuse/resell the image for personal and commercial projects, unless agreed upon;
ㅤ
♥ I reserve the right to reject your commission request without question. This includes (but are not limited to) if you don't follow the rules for the said order;
ㅤ
♥ I reserve the right to deny any request that goes beyond my artistic abilities;
ㅤ
♥ I reserve the right to modify and resell any rejected sketches as "pre-posed/ych" at a later date. Character’s uniquenesses will be respected, this rule is applied for poses and sceneries alone.

COMMISSIONER
(you)

The commissioner (you) may upload the piece(s) done for you to any site as long as it’s credited and linked back to any of my galleries and/or official profiles. Once a piece is commissioned, it’s considered yours and you may use it for any personal use that you please, “except” those listed below:

♥ You may not claim the work to be made by you, edit it or set it up for redistribution. You also may not use it for any external projects, commercial or non-commercial, unless agreed upon;
ㅤ
♥ By asking for a commission from me, you understand that I’ll do my best to fulfill your wishes, but I’ll never go beyond my artistic abilities;
ㅤ
♥ Credits for art must be given whenever the art is shared publicly;
ㅤ
♥ FOR CHARACTER DESIGNS: you may only resell it for the price you purchased it, unless the character in question has more art commissioned or made by you, which of course increases the character’s value. Credits for the design are still obligatory;
♥ FOR ART PIECES: they can’t be reselled for reproduction, such as prints, t-shirts, mugs, charms, etc. However, they can be used for these purposes as long as they’re intended for personal use (aka. non-commercial) only. My art cannot, under any circumstance, be used as NFTs or to train any Artificial Intelligence (AI) of any sort.

PROCEDURE

You understand that the artist (Mei) isn’t working only with your priorities in mind. While working on your commissioned art, she will take steps that are slow and very time consuming. Please don’t commission her if you are looking for fast and timely work.

♥ Once the order is received: I’ll sketch it and send it for approval;
- The main sketch is subject to change according to the commissioner's wishes, and will be resent as many times as necessary until it's approved.
- After the sketch is approved and the payment is received: I’ll start working on the lineart, color and any other finalization steps, depending on your commission type;

♥ Process images/WIPs may be requested. This is not an automatic procedure, meaning I don’t usually share wips unless they’re requested beforehand or if I have any doubts that require your own point of view, opinion and/or approval;
ㅤ
♥ I don’t accept "description only" for regular commissions (except, of course, lineart and custom character design commissions). You must have at least one visual reference even if it doesn't accurately depict your character(s). Extra info and/or design wishes can be sent as description, and I’ll always give you the opportunity to do so beforehand;

♥ Sketch commissions don’t have an approval stage, but you may request tweaks if I missed any distinguishing features present in your reference and/or previous description;
ㅤ
♥ Please be clear and concise in your descriptions. You can use (and I highly encourage you to) other art works and/or photographs as references for any element in your commission;
- You can always choose to give some “artistic/creative liberty” to work on your commissions. It’s totally optional, but may help to turn the piece more fluid as I’ll rely more on my personal judgment other than following strict instructions.

IMPORTANT OBSERVATION DEADLINES

♥ Being a slow and messy artist, I no longer offer deadlines for my commissions. My artistic procedure and personal life tends to change a lot and mess with my working progress and productivity, so it can take a couple of days to a month or more for your commission to be finished and delivered. I’ll do my very best to let you know if things are going to be slower than expected, but as a socially awkward and anxious person in the middle of treatment for these same problems, I kindly ask you to understand that this may take time.

By commissioning me, you agree that you’re aware that my personal conditions may affect the deadline of your commission and consequently cause occasional delays. You also agree to wait and to respect my time, while also being free to request periodical updates on your commissioned piece.
